Elementary school outreach event, New England Numismatic Club (Elliot and Michael) introduced students to American history through the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Cent series, using the coins as a visual and storytelling tool to explore the stages of Abraham Lincoln’s life. Students learned how each design represents a key chapter in Lincoln’s journey—from his humble birth in Kentucky.

Event at the Danbury Library, New England Numismatic Club (Elliot) engaged middle school students in an interactive lesson using the Jefferson nickel to explore American history, symbolism, and design. Students examined real nickels and learned how images, words, and dates on coins reflect important national values, historical figures, and moments in time.

New England Numismatic Club (Elliot) participated in an educational presentation at the Bethel, Connecticut Senior Citizen Event. The program focused on the upcoming United States Mint releases commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. Discussion about the removal of the U.S. penny, cash rounding methods. Hands on activity with focus on techniques for identifying coins by touch for individuals with limited vision. The event reflected the Club’s continued commitment to numismatic education and community outreach.
